DUDENDANCE THEATRE
BORDERLANDS

Clad in white, slow moving and faceless, these mysterious figures occupy sites of former conflicts. Silent and relentless they are a reminder of lives lost through countless wars over shifting borders of nationalism and colonisation.
Dudendances exquisite interventions seem to reach below the surface of the modern world , reminding us the past is ever with us even if we can't always see it.
Mary Brennan , Herald

BORDERLANDS is a poetic metaphor-a subtle evocation of what it means to be invaded. The theme of the project linked to issues around the 2014 Scottish referendum and 100 year commemoration of the 1st world war. The slow meditative pace and sculptural quality of the performance is woven into a cyclical slow motion choreography . Unfolding like a dream in and around the audience giving resonance and voice to the space itself.
